United Way of Greater Duluth’s annual Day of Caring matches teams of community-minded volunteers with local non-profit agencies in need of extra hands. Volunteers can make a real difference by tackling agency projects such as painting, planning activities for kids, collecting supplies, landscaping, light maintenance and many other opportunities. Everyone is welcome!
Day of Caring is June 26, 2013

The Day of Caring is a great way to promote volunteerism, increase awareness of local human service agencies and give people a chance to see firsthand the impact United Way and local agencies are creating in our community.
In past years the United Way of Greater Duluth’s Volunteer Center recruited over 400 volunteers to help with 44 projects. This kind of volunteer impact equates to over $34,000!
In 2012 the area experienced the June flood. So volunteerism took on a more urgent tone. In both cases the community came together to help each other.
“United Way’s Day of Caring and its volunteers are a terrific addition to our Annual Client Recognition Lunch. Their enthusiasm and support make the event even more meaningful to the 190 people we work with each day.”
-- Marge Bray, Executive Director Goodwill Industries
