How long have you volunteered for this organization? Eight years
Volunteer duties:
I serve as chairman of the Youth Activities Committee, where we partner
with Hermantown High School and recognize a senior boy and girl student
of the month and year; we host the Americanism Essay Contest for
students in grades five through eight; lead a Boy Scout Merit Badge Day;
and sponsor two Little League teams. The Elks also puts on youth hoop
and soccer shoots. I also serve as chairman of the House Committee,
which manages the day-to-day operations of the Elks Club and activities.
Favorite part of volunteering here:
Working with the kids during Merit Badge Day and reading the
Americanism essays. I enjoy promoting the Elks, who work to support
youths and our veterans through different events.Favorite memory: Serving as Exalted Ruler from 2008-09. I also enjoy working with other volunteers on kids’ and Elks’ events.
