2,100 Books Added to United Way of Greater Duluth’s Big Red Bookshelves
DULUTH, MN, June 30, 2011 – 2,100 more children’s books now line the shelves of Big Red Bookshelves across Duluth thanks to a community-wide book drive sponsored by United Way of Greater Duluth’s Women’s Leadership Council. Community members dropped off gently used children’s books to Super One Foods where they made their way to United Way. WLC members and friends then screened each one on United Way's annual Day of Caring. These books have been distributed to our Big Red Bookshelves located throughout the community. The program encourages early learning by providing free books to young children.
