United Way of Greater Duluth
is promoting financial stability and independence to assist
lower-income individuals and families in the transition
out of poverty through:
Increasing income capabilities
Gaining and sustaining savings and assets
Fact:
People who are living in poverty face more
diverse and severe barriers to achieving economic stability.
These issues include generational poverty, lack of education
or skills training, increased cost of living and a local
economy with a high percent of low wage jobs.
The work we do:
Through strategic advocacy, financial investment,
volunteer programs, collaborations, and education campaigns,
we:
Partner with organizations to eliminate
poverty
Work with organizations to develop and
implement a comprehensive workforce development plan
to improve availability of and access to job training
and continued education opportunities.
