Promoting Financial Stability & Independence

United Way of Greater Duluth is promoting financial stability and independence to assist lower-income individuals and families in the transition out of poverty through:

  • Increasing income capabilities
  • Gaining and sustaining savings and assets

Fact:

People who are living in poverty face more diverse and severe barriers to achieving economic stability. These issues include generational poverty, lack of education or skills training, increased cost of living and a local economy with a high percent of low wage jobs.

The work we do:

Through strategic advocacy, financial investment, volunteer programs, collaborations, and education campaigns, we:

  • Partner with organizations to eliminate poverty
  • Work with organizations to develop and implement a comprehensive workforce development plan to improve availability of and access to job training and continued education opportunities.
