United Way of Greater Duluth
is supporting increased access to healthcare services
and benefits to improve the health status of uninsured
and under-insured people through:
Increasing access to physical, mental and
dental services and benefits for uninsured or underinsured
peoplencrease the percent of people gaining access to
physical, mental and dental health services and benefits.
Facts:
Limited access to health care compromises the health status
of low-income people and results in unnecessary costs
to the health care system. Access to physical, mental
and dental health care is limited by cost, lack of insurance
and lack of reliable transportation.
The work we do:
Through strategic advocacy, financial investment, volunteer
programs, collaborations, and education campaigns, we:
Increase access to physical, mental and
dental health care for people who are without health
insurance.
Develop a strong network of health care
providers to improve the availability of and access
to preventative and restorative dental care for uninsured
and underinsured people.
Support programs that address smoking
and tobacco use.
