What is Imagination Library?

In September of 2008, United Way of Greater Duluth launched Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a program that provides children age birth to kindergarten one of the important tools needed for school success: books.

Each month, enrolled youth will receive a free high-quality, age-appropriate book in the mail. The Imagination Library program in Greater Duluth is made possible through the support of a community-wide coalition of business, health care, nonprofit, government and literacy professionals to ensure that the neediest of the needy children have access to books.

All families in Greater Duluth with children under the age of five will be eligible to enroll in the program; however, through strategic community partners and an intentional outreach and marketing plan, at-risk families will be a focus of the effort.
